To the native English speaker here: Can I ask a language question? go ahead *acts like a native english speaker* Well it's nothing important. I just got confused by something and didn't find a result on google. My translator says this: Someone attending school : pupil/ student/ disciples/ scholar . . . etc. someone attending university: undergraduate But I watched a Let's play of a British game in original soundtrack. There some refers himself as student, but was attending university. On occasion, I saw that people used the term student for someone attending university. I'm just curious, since I'm attending university too: Does student just referring to someone attending school or can you used it too, when you attend university?

Isn't it fine to call someone attending university by 'Student'?? *reads much* *is not an English speaker*

Anyone being taught can be referred to as a student. So even in University, people sometimes call them "students" You can even casually calls someone a student xD It's usually more joking but if you're a mentor you can call someone your student probably.

People are called students until they graduate schooling all together, however there is no special name for students until they attend university. People taking bachelors are undergraduates. People taking masters or up are graduates. Regardless the umbrella term is still student for everyone. Once you graduate university or even highschool you can be called an Alumni of that particular school you graduated from and nowhere else. A pupil means pretty much the same thing as a student, while a scholar is probably best for a university student (masters or up) since scholar means this person specializes in a field of study. A disciple might not be the best synonym for a student.... it's hard to explain this one actually...
