This theory is made around Episode 164's time. I will not make changes to this just to see how much my speculation has paid off, and what I could possibly get wrong here. (Yeah, I have that weird feeling that Yong has been psychically spying on my posts, and not just here. ^^; Hehe...) You guys don't have to respond to this. I just wanted to leave this here as a form of satisfaction and a record of floating ideas before I may forget about them. Some of my rare visits to this board become long posts. Makes up for lost time, huh? Big warning that this is a LONG read. If English isn't your first language, then, I'm sorry.... >___< Just take it easy or you can skip this entirely. Ok, so I was inspired from our lengthy conversation over at MC. Some users brought up interesting points, and it started to dawn on me how much they could be onto something here. Some of you guys know that I supported the Rood = human DK's reincarnated form from the beginning. So far, as we progressed throughout this story, everything has been sustaining on that theory. Thus, I almost moved on until Ep. 164 showed up and we see Meredith having his own flashbacks. It served as a major confirmation that Meredith is THE Meredith from the very beginning. Then, it got to me that Meredith has literally been waiting for so many years. Waiting for Rood (human Demon King) to show up again. It seems the Tower experiment has seriously paid off for Meredith's wish to come true at a heavy sad cost. (I do question as to why the human DK's eyeball thingie showed up in Meredith's head though. Unless, Meredith was watching this unfold....with hidden glee?) Meredith referred to the whole kingdom, that's under the Tower's protection, as a "prison". (Much less, the huge magic field covering the Tower, itself.) So, you begin to wonder if Meredith, himself, ever thought of himself as a prisoner being used by the Tower? His position may be very high, because of his origins, but he also seems to be living immortally. However, we don't really know which side Meredith belongs to. We don't know, at this point, what kind of relationship he use to have with the human Demon King. We just know that he was yearning for his reappearance. However, he is right on one thing. The whole kingdom feels like it is a prison when it has this huge bubble over it. Everyone knows that it's not safe outside this bubble. That, there are monsters/demons roaming around outside of it. Yet, imagine this kingdom living in a bubble fear for so long rather than finding a solution to this monster problem. The Tower, which caused this monster problem to begin with, don't seem interested in learning from their past (human greed). So, it became an ongoing cycle of never-ending power hunger for the Tower. This stems from the twisted legend that has been lost to time, except, to those who were involved. Luckily, the story has been slowly revealing to us that we do have witnesses to the real truth behind the legend. -- Meredith, a key player, is officially an old man, who must have given himself so many youth/rejuvenation power to keep his "youthful" appearance. (Although, I'm no stranger to this trope seen in some other Korean webtoons, I think Meredtih is definitely one of the cuter eternally lived individuals I've ever seen.) He is the Tower's founder, so, appropriately so... He knows everything! -- Rood/human Demon King is a major witness, since we now know that he saw his demon brother being captured by the Tower. That also looks like Meredith's magic of making him like that. So, yeah. Meredith definitely holds a key to this. It's only a matter of time before Rood can properly explain to us everything. Hopefully, this character development of his, with his past and childhood memories returned, is stream lined. Like, it'll be nice to see some of that childhood personality come up too. ^__^ Haha.. I think I caught a random user, on the Facebook BH page, referring to the new Rood as a very emotionless person, but I don't think so if he can display some of those "get off of me/speechless" Rood emotions. Hopefully, he isn't really THIS emotionless, although, he is calmer. It'll be nice if he can smile in the near future, at least? -- Lispen -- Possibly? He seems to be this bird demon perching on the human DK's shoulder. So, he definitely was around the time that the human Demon King must've been friends with the royal humans. I theorize that he was a witness to the humans' greed for power, and thus, it affected him greatly. Lispen's dislike for humans came from this very event. -- The Royal Family's ancestors. These guys were very much around when the Tower was founded. However, today's royal family seem to be divided. The current King is in full support for the Tower, thus, allows the Tower's influence to continue. His children seem to be on a different path. Well, at least, Prince Yumehen. He's big friends with the Association, who are very much anti-Tower. He's been visiting the Tower since he was young. His little sister seems to be the gifted magic user of the family, but, she doesn't seem to care much about the Tower due to her young age. All she knows is that she wants to be with her friends, to know that everyone is safe, and .....Ming Ming! Also, their hair colors... Are straight matching with both the prologue and Meredith's flashback. Coincidence?? Or, could they truly be reincarnations of those involved...? Fate? -- Dio? Was he around? And my laptop's dying so I can't continue this now. I'll be back to finish this!! *roars*

Meredith mentioned his name as "Benedict". He's the 3rd master of tower...the one who went to the meeting in capital city.
But the second and third owners calls Meredith by sir and those things Meredith was indeed talking to Benedict. However, Benedict is the master of the second Tower (the lady). In chapter 163 she refers to him as "Sir Meredith"...so it could have been a translation error or she simply refers to him without it sometimes?

So, Misaki's question was cleared up then? Thanks, guys. Misaki, you good? Part Two -- since the Edit button disappears after some time. I can't add more into the original post. (As long as my laptop holds up at these wee hours. >__< ) * * Royal Family --- (Actually, not done with them yet.) So, we know from the legends, that the King prayed to "God" for help, but in truth, it was the Demon King. The Tower twisted this truth. But, according to Meredith's flashback, the human Demon King befriended a human royal. She could be the princess/sister of the human king. Some people have speculated that it was this girl, who prayed for help rather than the King. But, we do have the human king's name so we know he did exist. So, if these two royals were witnesses to the Tower's betrayal of the Demon King's trust, then, one of them had to, at least, record the truth and hide it away. What could they possibly do against the Tower's corruption, even if they were equal on power? They were not equal on magic power. So, on theory, I have to wonder if there was any of the royal descendants, who had magic capabilities? Oh wait. Princess Yuti. But, before her? Anyone? Quite the coincidence that the one seen closest to the human Demon King, is the girl. And, the descendant, who is considered "special", also happens to be a girl. Her brother clearly did not have any magic talent. Someone in MC's disqus pointed out to me that Yuti was referred to as "special", and I responded back that I thought it had to do with her royal title, "Empire's princess". However, I thought more on this, and had to re-double think as to why she is called "special". So far, we haven't seen her use any magic. She acts like a typical hyper 12 year old, who adores cute stuff. They put some strange emphasis on her existence as if it's really important, but I didn't think it was out of the ordinary. So, we'll see. Is she more than what we've seen so far? Beyond acting the role of comedic relief to Ming Ming's existence? Ah, but the brother is clearly someone, who doesn't agree with the Tower. On the surface, he keeps the relationship professional and neutral. Even if he has visited the Tower several times as a child.... You start to wonder, "why?", because he's friends with the Association and had no issues with the Association declaring war on the Tower. The Empire's King, on the other hand, seems to be on good terms, but not his son? Did the Association do a little digging and found something closer to the truth? Did the Association's actions influence the Prince, because he seems to have a childhood friendship with Shicmuon. And, what does the Prince do when he visits the Tower? Spy on them? ( ) Can't imagine him being able to walk off on his own in secret. Hopefully, the royal family's involvement starts to be even more in the story. Particularity, both the Prince and Princess. Considering we saw an ancestor in the flashback, there is no turning back. Dio --- Dio may have not been around at the time of the big Demon King's capture. We didn't see him in any of the flashbacks/memory imagery. Which would make his regret of not being "there" for the human Demon King make even more sense. He was too late to save the human Demon King. Yet, unlike Lispen, who seemed very mad at the Tower, and humans in general, Dio doesn't have an ounce of anger at the human race. He may not like the Tower, but he knows the human Demon King was on good terms with the humans. This reflects on Dio's behavior with Rood. The puppeteer of the mana body ---- Just who is he? Who's this mysterious demon, who teamed up with Lispen? Who is it? Someone related to the long ago past? Someone related to the "Door" being opened? Out of time again. Part Three should be it. >___< Noooo....

^ >D Very understandable. (I don't think a lot of us can be like Yuti. ^__^) Haha... So, if you see a Ming Ming, you'll return him right away? Okay! * * Part Three --- Final Noble house of Lanoste -> Association -- Just who are these people? Their existence also warrants an explanation. Were any of their descendants witnesses to the ancient past? It's clear this noble house was stripped of its nobility title. Because, as of now, I root for the Association the most. These are humans, who seem very aware of the Tower's horrid actions. These guys might as well be considered the true Magicians compared to the Tower's own. And, just simply declaring war on the Tower feels like a dream come true for Mr. Lanoste. ^_________________^ All his "smiles" just scream "I'm the best schemer/dealer of this story. Praise me hard for I always have a plan!! Mwahahahaha..." Oh sure. Send Shic over to Helios, because you have suspicions. As mentioned in the following above, these different individuals, with the exception of the Lanoste house, had connections to the human Demon King, regardless of whether they were there in the past or became descendants. So, it's fascinating that everything fell into place the moment Rood was born into the world. His sad family circumstance allowed his existence to be known to the Tower, which meant, Meredith became aware of his presence when he came back alive. A lot of fans believe/speculate the Ritual is a form of "fishing" for the DK's power/soul using a human body as a bait, but for Rood's case, I don't completely see it this way. Although, Rood was born a normal child, his face/profile and hair style (somewhat) already resembled the human DK to begin with. Thus, my theory involves Rood's body being the true reborn vessel of the human DK, but no one could tell because he has blonde short hair. The DK's soul and memories were either separated from the vessel or asleep from the beginning due to the rebirth. Once little Rood's soul (/memories) ended up in the demon world, his presence was pretty much left alone. However, Kiel's arrival and showering Rood with his apologetic love alerted/awoken the DK's soul. How Meredith witnessed this, we won't know until Yong says something about this. But, Kiel's selfless sacrifice as self-punishment/guilt, plus, the DK's eyball soul or power thingie witnessing all of this, was enough to push Kiel + Rood back to the human world. Rood's memory loss may be from the DK's memories meshing with Rood's own childhood memories, which never got unlocked until these recent episodes. Anyways, to get back on point... The timing of how this all happened was just very convenient. Rood's arrival in Helios at the same time as Dio's undercover work to find the "traitor" was some lucky coincidence. Plus, Lidusis being Rood's main mission was a double coincidence. The triple coincidence is that the Princeses is also attending the school. These coincidental events really makes everything come full circle. You could feel that there were some bonding time made in the past between the human Demon King, Lispen, the royal descendant, and Dio. Meredith was probably also considered a "friend", before creating the Tower. So, I'm looking forward to our next "ancient past" flashback showing a group of friends/followers being friendly to each other until this friendship ends in tragedy. I can already sense it. Lispen must've had a cautious view on humans before the Tower was created. And, we'll find out who opened the "Door". ......Hopefully? Something that happened many years ago, left to be forgotten by time and manipulated by the Tower, could eventually come back to bite the Tower in the butt. The good guys may have failed to stop both the Tower and low level bad demons from gaining so much influence around the continent. But, that was then. This is now. Everyone has been given a second chance to break the bubble over the capital, send the monsters back to the demon world, destroy the various Towers' power over everyone, and perhaps, make all the mana disappear? * (* That became a short discussion over at MC about what would happen if magic vanished around the continent? Would people revert to how they lived before the "Door" opened? Another theory. Another time? ^_^) // End. And that's all my thoughts so far. Done!!
