Apparently Rokka is a mystery fantasy setting, since from what I heard the light novel pretty much keeps the entire setting of "who is the seventh" then actually fighting the Demon God as a normal fantasy would be.
I read the light novel for Mahouka Rettousei before it got licensed on the Baka Tsuki site, and there is a reason as to why Miyuki depends on her brother as she does in the anime. And contrary to what you read it's the complete opposite of what the summary said, since Tatsuya is being treated as a tool more than a real family member or head. Since it turns out that the Yotsuba clan they're from is the most powerful yet very secretive, so having the "Decomposition" and "Regrowth" specialized magics of his is considered as "that's how powerful as a Yotsuba should at least be if you want to be a member of our family". There were a few other messed up things they did to him, but in short I don't believe they are meant to be married if he's treated as a tool & also a threat by his family
I have watched the first couple of episodes of Magi, but I really couldn't like the characters so I didn't finish it. I heard it was a great anime and the powers get OP later. E verything u said about Tatsuya.... I already knew he was treated as a tool & is considered as a threat but we have also learned that miyuki is kinda tatsuya's master & this was done intentionally so the yotsuba clan can control him. & what reason does miyuki have 4 depending on tatsuya so much? I find the character quite annoying @ times becuz she is filled with contradictions! In the beginning when honoka's bff confronted miyuki about her strange relationship with tatsuya she said that she loved her brother but it was more than that"everything she ws belonged 2 him" apparently. she denied being in love with him yet her actions said otherwise. she resented the fact that tatsuya was close with other girls.....she tended 2 throw fits if she found out he was with another girl! yet she @ one point said she wouldnt get in the way if tatsuya was interested in another girl. miyuki is so completely obsessed with her brother that i cant think of her without thinking of tatsuya bcuz its like she doesnt have her own identity! & i hate characters like that....i dont mind if a character loves hard 4 the MC but not to the point of them being an extension of some1 else.....that just screams dependency issues! I guess I'm all about "girl power" if you think they are not meant 2 be married due to him being used as a tool by the family then u really need 2 read the current vol.! Ah I see, the translations for the novels stopped until the beginnings of their second year back then so I never got to really read on from that point on afterwards. Is there any other place for LN translations that host it?
Haha then I don't know then. Since it's not like she really needs protecting really if only she was able to use her full magic that is mostly used for chaining Tatsuya down. The whole family of theirs passes to me as rather odd anyways, so I really can't determine either what's going on through Miyuki's head other than either that since they are siblings & been together all the time Miyuki is one of those characters in shoujo who "doesn't realize her feelings" towards her brother, or being related she doesn't even want to acknowledge it due to society laws. But still I did like her in the anime for a majority of it.

Here is the thing, i didnt really have a problem with miyuki in the anime, probably bcuz there were a lot more interesting things in the anime going on besides her. i started to dislike her obsessive tendencies towards tatsuya becuz until recently he genuinely believed that miyuka only had very very very strong admiration 4 him, thats y she acted the way she did with him. when she found out she she didnt hav 2 marry some other dude she finally admitted that she always was in love with tatsuya. when she told him after his aunt decided they were 2 be married he was emotionally distressed becuz her always thought of miyuki as his little sister....but miyuki couldnt have been happier....she didnt care whether her aunt was forcing the issue of marriage on them...her dream came true becuz b4 she found out about the whole marriage thing she was saying how she didnt want 2 hav children that didnt belong 2 tatsuya etc. & tatsuya confuses me 2 no end, sometimes i think he really doesnt c miyuki in that light & other times he acts as if he does but doesnt want 2 admit he has those feelings? Anyway miyuki comes across as kinda selfish 2 me only caring 4 her vision of what her future is with tatsuya without stopping 2 think how he may feel. tatsuya has been under the yotsuba clan's thumb all his life & now this marriage thing is just another sign of their control over his life! & it makes me upset that miyuki doesnt care about that....she is getting what she always wanted. she should instead be fighting 4 tatsuya's freedom. its only then will i know she truly loves him more than herself selfish needs. Those are just my feelings on it....i know miyuki & tatsuya will end up together (the author said so) but i just wish she would give tatsuya his space & help him fight 4 a right 2 choose.

Wow that is messed up I knew that the family was always weird but not having read the LN further I just can't understand why would the aunt even want to get them married. Even if it was Miyuki's wish. I never thought of it that way since I thought she was always playing ignorant in the usual shoujo way XD. But I have to agree with you at this point.
Thanks for the link, I've been waiting to read more but the other place didn't make any further releases sadly

*its a romantic drama with supernatural elements. Yeah I meant Baka-Tsuki. I always had trouble finding good sites when it comes to LNs and so that's the only real one I was able to find.
Haha the premise of Kokoro Connect sort of reminds me of Yamada and the Seven Witches, well at least the body switching power and school life part anyways. But it's a supernatural so I'm definitely putting that on the list! I always have second thoughts on the pure feels-type anime, since the whole main character cast agonizing over their dead friend premise the entire series just really annoys me to no end. (The manga "Orange" and anime "Anohana" as an example).

I've seen a couple & i gotta say i dont think i will ever try others like that again. Well if u like the whole supernatural thing why dont u try one of my all time favorite supernatural series: animeonlinetv.tv/nurarihyon-no-mago-episode-1 SYNOPSIS: Rikuo Nura, is 3 parts human and a quarter Demon, lives in a house of spirits with his grandfather, The current clan head of the Nura youkai. Rikou is set to be the next clan head, despit the fact he dilikes his demon side. He soon come to terms with his demon blood and decides to take his position as young master of the Nura house. However there are those who will certainly not allow it to be easy.
You can also try: gogoanime.tv/devil-survivor-2-the-animation-episode-1
this was a pretty good supernatural series imo. synopsis- Mysterious invaders called the Septentriones arrive in Japan and begin attacking the country on a Sunday. To fight back, the heroes in Devil Survivor 2 signed a pact with the devil to become the Thirteen Devil Messengers. The Septentriones show up at least once a day and you have a time limit of seven days to defeat them.
BTW Have you ever watched Avatar the last air bender series? IF YOU HAVE NOT, ITS ALMOST A CRIME!!!!
PS- when u check out my recommendations u have 2 let me get you're feedback!!!

I have seen people recommending Kokoro Connect when it came to feels, and since it was a school-life themed setting I was always compelled to assume it was one of those pure feel types. I guess I was just busy watching others to not search up the story for it on MAL.
I have watched Devil Survivor 2 and Avatar: The Last Airbender, they were both good or great in their own ways. I couldn't get into the next Airbender series though, the one with Korra. I only watched a few episodes for me to think that watching an rather annoying main character was enough. Even though she had 3 bendings downs already I thought she wasn't that interesting. But thanks, I'll consider Nuraihyon no Mago
Just out of curiosity how many anime have you watched? And what would be your favorite genres?

Just out of curiosity how many anime have you watched? And what would be your favorite genres? How much anime I have watched? Why are u asking such a hard question, I dont keep track u know haha. well if i had 2 give a rough estimate maybe a little less than 100. That number might have been more if i only watched anime in my leisure time. I am just as much of a manga/webtoon fan & i read different genre of novels too like paranormal romance, historical romance, etc.,so that takes up time i might have spent watching anime. Plus I'm SUPER PICKY with the anime I watch becuz i get bored easily. I would watch any genre of anime as long as i find it interesting but if i had 2 pick a genre that i gravitate towards faster than others, it would be fantasy/supernatural. the romance genre is probably my least favorite in anime becuz i think the female characters are super annoying & the romance makes me want 2 cringe lol If a series has a romance subplot i dont mind but if it becomes a main focus of the story, then i have a problem! There are only a handful of romance anime series that i can say, its done really well. for this season of anime, the only romance i am currently watching that was surprisingly good is ore monogatari....its the most non-cliche romance....instead of the handsome guy being the MC.....the MC is actually the ugliest guy you will ever c & the handsome guy is his "side kick". First time the unattractive guy gets the hot girl....my only qualm about the series is the girl is super girly & i'm not 2 fond of characters like that.....the comedy is awesome though, its a feel good series that doesnt take itself 2 seriously.
Do u like romances? or are u some1 that cant stand it?
So u didnt like korra huh? well i dont blame u. the original series was the best but korra had its epic moments though....like korra being able to energy bend.....not gonna lie....that was badass! I might have liked the series more if korra wasnt so damn pathetic fighting the bad guys most of the time. I remember Aang only mastered AIR yet he used 2 kick some ass...he would rarely lose. Like u said korra had 3 elements mastered yet she couldnt hold her own in a fight. the only time she was able 2 win was probably 4 the final battle @ the end of each season. it was really annoying. u were smart 2 drop the series when u did becuz the finale was unsatisfying.

Omg! It's like we're the exact same person I always think that since fantasy would take the most creativity to make the world and characters interesting, I always prefer that & the action genres the most over others. But like anyone else I don't really mind any genre as long as its not hentai & too much horror and gore. If only you could read the bio I had on my anime app page, where it pretty much explains how I'm rather selective in anime and manga as you are. XD
With romance it's not that I can't stand it, but with anime I tend to avoid that genre. I think the manga generally does the better job of portraying the effects and story more that are given out by the characters. I tried watching one episode of Lovely Complex & Ookami no Kuro Ouji but I just couldn't get into watching them. Though I did like watching Soredomo Sekai wa Usutkushi and currently Akagami no Shirayukihime since they both incorporate the whole kingdom world setup, which is also commonly found in a fantasy setting.
Haha I guess at the point with the whole Revolution setup, the authors had to drag out the series that way. Completely the opposite of one manga I'm reading right now. What bending was Energy bending from? I know that the character from the first season have introduced new types of bending based on one of the main four, but it'd be cool if they had a way to include 2 or more core elements. I guess I'll be searching that up.

I guess I'll be searching that up.yeah later in the korra series she was able 2 energy bend. its something only the avatar could do. benders in general are able 2 bend due 2 the their chi or something & as the avatar she is able 2 project that energy out of her body 2 fight. Here is the scene on youtube: I havent explained it properly but the scene should clarify what I'm talking about. Korra was also able 2 bend different forms of metal which she learned later on in the series. things started 2 get really ridiculous when Bolin found a way to lava bend!!! I remember one reviewer said that the whole premise of the AVATAR universe was that bending was like a spiritual thing......by the end of the series it became more like magic. ....i would have 2 agree with that. Korra as a series as a whole still kept me interested becuz even though i had my issues with it; for eg. korra not being able 2 hold her own in a fight was just part of it, i also hated that the writers made Aang who was my beloved character from the original, in2 this crappy dad who favored his youngest son due 2 the fact that he was an air bender.....we came to find out aang use 2 take the youngest on special trips & had amazing adventures while leaving his 2 oldest children at home! i was so pissed when they destroyed my fav character like that. I also had a problem with the fact that it was only the youngest that got married & had children yet the other 2 had no family of their own & they both looked like really old ppl when in fact tenzin's older sister was older than him by probably 6yrs for the most while the oldest brother was older by probably 10yrs yet both the older brother & sister looked like they could be ur grandparents age. I dont think they did justice 2 aang & katara's children character designs. IMO they were very unattractive designs. I was also annoyed by korra's romance with mako....she was carrying on like spoilt brat in the relationship which caused mako 2 break up with her. the response 2 the whole romance thing in the series was bad so the creators cut the romance after s1. I think if they had started the romance in like s.3 & continued in2 the final season it wouldnt have been so bad.....but the creators didnt think ppl would have wanted more from the series when they initially planed 4 one season so they rushed the romance & the result was horrendous. I thought they would have @ least brought back the romance with korra x mako 4 the final season but they didnt so i was pretty bombed abt that but i digress....there were things that i did like about korra like the fact that we learnt about how the first avatar came 2 be, the villains were interesting in their own way......we even got a dark avatar as a villain....that really impressed me becuz it was something we never saw b4 & lastly i liked the feel of the series, it didnt feel like a kids show, it had adult undertones 2 it. So u dont like too much horror & gore huh? then u must hate Tokyo ghoul? u didnt like lovely complex? why? i watched it a few yrs ago & i liked it. I thought that the romance was realistic, it showed the joys & heartache of young love (i could relate 2 the female lead who liked this guy so much but he just didnt see her as anything but a friend. she tried so hard 4 him 2 like her but he just didnt & it kept breaking her heart, 2 the point where she decides 2 just give up on him but couldnt in the end. eventually she won him over & it was done perfectly) the emotions from these characters were exactly how young love is ( right down 2 the kind of advice ur best friends would give in that situation) & i respected that abt the series. I did watch Soredomo Sekai wa Usutkushi.....it was good but 4 me it would have been better if it had a full 24 eps 2 develop the characters & story more. the other romance Akagami no Shirayukihime.....wow, i really wished i liked the series but i found the characters 2 be underwhelming & the story as a whole was just boring imo. I was planning 2 recommend some romance series 2 u but i changed my mind....u still have my other recommends 2 check out & get back 2 me on

No I don't. While I admit I watched Tokyo Ghoul since the app and other communities were giving the hype for it, I did as the first season was still airing. But I loved the first season, since the character development Kaneki went through was just something. Not as much as Tsuna from KHR but I loved the Anteiku cast around the MC. I also liked Kiseiju for the same reason, and like some of the others near towards the end I couldn't help but root for both MC and Migi. I don't really mind the genre too much as long as the story is okay, like how the generic story of Shokugeki no Souma pretty much lets me not too dwell upon the ecchi bits of it. But if you ever saw the recommendation posts on the app of works like Noptia ... oh man the images the user posted for it would probably never leave my head. *-*
Haha thanks but in terms of manga I think I have pretty much already read the common shoujo works. I am trying to watch up on the music anime types atm so I think I'm good with the recs ^^. Lovely Complex was probably the only few of series I didn't feel getting into to, but again as I mentioned the anime doesn't really live well up for me in comparison to the manga when it comes to shoujo. Like in Akagami no Shirayukihime, it's already 9 episodes in and for some reason they have decided to mix in 2 small arcs at the same time. Which to my disappointment made the episode 9 completely feel like a filler. But if you're ever interested read the manga for it, the later arcs (like Lyrias & the mountain clan arc) and the character depictions/portrayal is much better imo. The main character's romance is something to be sure, but I just absolutely love Obi.
Yeah, but I think in Soredomo they did a pretty good job of portraying the series as a whole given the number of episodes it had, and ended the arcs well just at the heroine's home country. I just loved the songs, especially the one her grandmother sang for her as she and Livi left. ;_;
